WHAT YOUR DONATION PROVIDES

$5 provides the number of Diapers that families in need fall short of each month

$25 provides children with healthy snacks at our Kids in the Kitchen program.

$50 provides leadership curriculum and scholarships to our Spark Board members.

HOW IT WORKS

Participants raise funds while wearing a black dress, or other black attire, every day for the week of February 7th through February 11th. Participating Junior League members wear an “Ask me about my black dress” button, sticker, or t-shirt to prompt conversation and highlight the need for and benefits of the Junior League of Pensacola’s initiatives and programs.

DID YOU KNOW

  • According to numbers from the National Diaper Bank Network and Huggies, 36% of American families experience diaper insecurity. That’s over 25,000 local households in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
  • The US average age of diaper completion is 35 months. One baby will need 8,400 diapers until potty trained.
  • Of the families who experience diaper insecurity, 60% miss work or school because they didn’t have enough diapers for child care or to get through the day.
  • Healthy eating in childhood and adolescence is important for proper growth and development and to prevent various health conditions.
  • When a child has poor nutrition, they can be at risk for obesity, as well as iron deficiencies, dental cavities, and long-term health effects.
Junior League of Pensacola has been in the community since 1956 serving our mission of empowering our members through creating social change.

Please consider making a donation to support the Junior League of Pensacola’s efforts to improve the lives of the women and children in our community!
